THE MOVEMENT

More than a festival

The Turning is a Christian movement of evangelism, mission, unity, and service. Its purpose is to mobilize the Church to leave its four walls and meet people where they are: in the streets, in the squares, in the neighborhoods, in the parks, and in the places where everyday life happens.

It's not about a few people on a stage. It's about the whole Church participating.
Ordinary people. An extraordinary God.

GRAN CANARIA

Four years growing together

The Turning has been in development in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for four years.
Different churches. Different ministries. Different generations. One same mission.

Missionary teams

Each year, different missionary groups come to Gran Canaria to serve alongside local churches and be part of the project. We pray together, go out together, evangelize together, serve together, and learn from one another.

They are not coming to replace the local church. They are coming to walk alongside it.

THE TURNING GRAN CANARIA 2026

For five days, San Telmo Square was transformed into an open space for mission, faith, music, encounter, and service. Families, children, volunteers, missionary teams, booths, evangelism, and a program open to the entire city.
Five days. One city. One mission.

SOCIAL IMPACT

A faith that is lived by serving

Part of The Turning is practical service to the community. We work alongside churches, associations, and local organizations to demonstrate the love of Jesus through concrete actions.

A Church that doesn't just talk about hope. A Church that wants to offer hope in a practical way.

Yinka Oyekan

Yinka Oyekan is the founder of the international movement The Turning. The movement began in Reading, England, on May 29, 2016, at The Gate Church. During its first four weeks, more than 1,850 people received prayer in the streets, marking the beginning of a vision focused on bringing the Christian message directly to people.

Since then, Yinka has continued to accompany and train cities in various European countries, including England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium, Germany, France, and Switzerland.

This international vision continues to expand throughout Europe and also has its own expression in Gran Canaria.
